Christopher J’maurion Isler has been in love with the sound of music since he was 8 years old. He decided to pick up a trombone his 6th grade year (2007) and never turned back. A native of Lithonia Georgia, Mr. Isler attended Lithonia high school and severed as section leader his junior and senior year.
Mr. Isler attended South Carolina State University after graduating, majored in music education and also marched with Marching 101. After his freshman year of college, Christopher took a professional route to become a professional trombone player. Since 2015 he’s accomplished himself as not only a trombone player, but also a professional brass player including Tuba, Euphonium, and Mellophone. In his local area of Lithonia, Christopher founded his own Trombone Choir by the name of “Southernheat.” A non profit organization where he brought in adults, high school students and middle school students to teach the how to play any instrument of their choice. They’ve preformed for, nursing homes, children’s hospitals and at plenty of local parks to raise awareness for diabetes and heart disease. Mr. Isler is a new addition to the FAME band family during the 2021-22 season, and will be serving as associate director with a specialization in low brass. |
