FAME Band

Objectives

FAME Band is comprised of two major ensembles. Marching band in the fall and symphonic/wind band in the spring. The purpose of the program is provide musicians with continued training in the appropriate methods, techniques, strategies, and skills to be a successful classically trained musician. FAME Band students also have the opportunity to audition, and play in the jazz ensemble. The FAME band students are selected to play in the pit orchestra for the FAME Drama musical production each year. The FAME Band also performance in several concerts, competitions, exhibitions, and venues throughout the year.

Audition Requirements
Through instrumental music instruction, students will be able to:
  1. Perform with proper fundamental tone and intonation.
  2. Demonstrate advanced instrumental techniques.
  3. Perform with technical and musical accuracy repertoire of increasing level of difficulty.
  4. Define and understand performance implications for all technical and musical vocabulary.
  5. Understand the relationship between music, other art forms, and other academic disciplines (ie: history, literature, science).
  6. Listen to, analyze, and evaluate musical performances both live and recorded.
  7. Demonstrate the skills necessary to approach and solve musical challenges
