"Mighty Marching Jaguars"

ABOUT.
The NMHS "Mighty Marching Jaguars"  is the major fall ensemble for the FAME Band program. The "MMJ" is a competitive hybrid style band. We perform with the pageantry and precision of Big-12 and HBCU band programs. A combination of both performing styles allows the "MMJ" to perform and entertain a wide variety of crowds with high energy and versatile repertoire of music.

The "MMJ" helps to teach students discipline, self-confidence, social interaction skills, and expanded musical medium. The "MMJ" participates in NMHS events, football games, parades, marching competitions, jamboree exhibitions, and battle of the bands. The NMHS "Mighty Marching Jaguars" are here to put on energetic and memorable shows through precision technique and musical achievement. 

REQUIREMENTS.

• Ability to read musical works
• At least two years of playing experience
  • ​Less than two will require an audition to assess ability.
  • Contact the Band Office to schedule an audition.
• Strong work ethic and discipline
• Attend summer marching band camp
• Ability to learn new concepts and have fun
• You DO NOT have to be a FAME student to join the "MMJ." 
• Fall band class is required for students not in another FAME discipline.
